Today we are welcoming modern age or
can say western culture. Ok that’s good we are accepting something modern, but
what about our ancient culture? Do anyone knows fully about their respective
culture? Ok pay no heed to fully, even someone knows half about their
respective culture? I think the answer is NO, as our most of the present-day
generation are busy in the fake vision of mobile, pay no attention to the real
charmer.
We can’t know the full verity on the
trial of history, but at least we should know some regarding it then knowing
nothing at all. Here by i am writing article connected to former times, with
referring to it’s HISTORY, CULTURE &
TRADITION, FOOD, FESTIVAL, RELIGION & PEOPLE, WEDDING, etc.
History
of Gujarat:-
Gujarat acquire its names from the
land of Gujara, which has been ruled by Gujjars at the estimate of 700’s and
800’s era. Indus Valley Civilization is the foundation where the history of
Gujarat embark on. It was set on when the large harappan site of Dholavira were
bring to light in Kutch district. The Maurya Empire, Nanda Empire, Satavahana
Empire, Gupta Empire, and the Empires of Western Kshatrapas period Dominated
Gujarat for a long time.
Gujarat reached its prodigious extent
under the realm of Chaulukya Dynasty.
Before 18th century when the Gujarat came under the govern of
Marathas, many ruler such as Allauddin Khilji (Turkic Sultan Of Delhi), Sultan Ahmed Shah, Akbar the Great, Etc,. reign over Gujarat. Later in the 18th century the
Maratha Empire laid down the law over Gujarat. Pilaji Gaekwad (First ruler of
Gaekwad Dynasty), Peshwas, Chhatrapati’s, are the one who reign over Gujarat
during Maratha dominance.
It’s the birth place of many freedom
fighters such as Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel, Morarji Desai, K.M. Munshi, Narhari Parikh, Mahadev Desai,
Mohanlal Pandya & Ravi Shankar Vyas. Who started the coup d'état to
overthrow the British empire and fought for the freedom of india.
Culture
& Tradition of Gujarat:-
Gujarati culture and traditions are
full of source of amazement. Gujarati
Music, Gujarati Dance, Gujarati Language, Gujarati literature are totally
isolated. Garba, Dandiya Raas, Tippani, Padhar,Etc,. are some traditional folk
dance performed by Gujarati’s. Among them Garba & Dandiya Raas are the most
renowned.
Garba:
It’s the most popular dance form among Gujarati’s
& other peoples too. It is fully refined and appealing dance form in which
female form ring shaped formation and dance rhythmically on song while clapping
into certain pattern around the Goddess Ambaji. Nowadays male are also free to
join for playing garba. In the time of navratri festival female dress code are
usually embroidered choli, ghagras & bandhani dupattas with immense
jewelry.
Dandiya
Raas: Dandiya raas originated from the days of lord
Krishna who played raas on the lakeside of Yamuna river with his dearest gopis.
Dandiya Raas is fully energetic, romantic and colorful. Dandiya raas is played
in two groups, one group rotate clockwise and other one rotate
counter-clockwise. Men & Women carry two sticks in their hands known as
dandiyas. The most fascinating part is to see the creative use of dandiyas.
Dandiya raas is very popular among young generation as many romance blossom
throughout the time of navratri.
Language
Of Gujarat:
Gujarati is the official language of Gujarat.
Gujarati language is acquired from the Sanskrit. Into the list of most widely
spoken language in the world Gujarati stands at 26th. People of
Gujarat put to use non-identical languages from district to district. Some
people make use of surti language, some make use of kathiyawadi, & some
make use of pure gujarati. Languages such as Marwadi, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu,
Sindhi, Etc,. are also comes handy in Gujarat.
Food
In Gujarat:
The Food among gujarat also differs
as per its location, different types of pulses are used in different amount as

are exceptional to gujarat.
Kite
Flying Festival: This Festival takes place on 14th
January every year. On this day people of gujarat assemble on terrace to fly
kites of various colors to celebrate maker sankranti and to welcome the sun with
music & dance. On this day the people fight with kites, whosoever kites
thread cuts the other kites thread first will be the winner. Now a days the
people use lamp kite at the end of this day.
The
Kutch Mahotsav: The Kutch festival is also well known
as “Rann Festival”. This festival is celebrated at the time of shivaratri which
usually comes in month of February & March. People from all around the
world gathers to rejoice in this festival. This festival embrace crafts, fairs,
music , dance, Cultural Show Etc. This Festival is organized by Gujarat Tourism
Every time.
Religion
& People In Gujarat:
India is known as the country of
unity in diversity. Here the particular states also hold the picture of unity
in diversity. Same In the state of gujarat people from different religion
lives. Even the gujarati’s are having different religion among them, some
belongs to Hinduism, some to Jainism, while some are Gujarati Muslims. It’s
clearly shows that how our india is the country of unity in diversity. Or we
can say divided by religion, united by mother tongue. All of them worship different gods but speaks
the same language.
Wedding
Ceremonies In Gujarat:-
In Indian Culture marriage is a
considered as highly promising occasion. As per Hindu Tradition marriage is a
lifelong commitment between man and woman. All the mantras are chanted in
Sanskrit which is considered as a language of gods. The marriage ceremony take
place before the sacred flame, which is considered as witness of the marriage
and all vows taken.
